THE TEDDY B RASHGUARD
The ʻTeddy B.ʻ is a relaxed fit long sleeve men's rashguard named after Waikīkī Beachboy, Teddy Bush, who has been a surf instructor and canoe captain on Waikīkī Beach for the last 50+ years. Teddy was the youngest person to achieve the rank of Canoe First Captain at the age of 21; he was also one of the founding members of the Waikīkī Beachboys Canoe Club, a competitive canoe racing team originally comprised of only Waikīkī Beachboys.
THE DUKIE RASHGUARD
The ʻDukieʻ is a relaxed fit short sleeve menʻs rashguard named after Dukie Kuahulu who was a prominent Waikīkī Beachboy and a master canoe steersman. Due to his knowledge of the ocean and steering, he was chosen as one of the crew members aboard the traditional sailing canoe, Hokuleʻa, on it's maiden voyage between Hawaiʻi and Tahiti. This sail took place in 1976 and marked the revival of the Hawaiian culture and highlighted the ingenuity and curiosity of the Polynesian people.
THE ALEX RASHGUARD
The ʻAlex' is a relaxed fit men's tank rashguard named after Alex Apo, Waikīkī Beachboy and legendary waterman known for his ability to steer the outrigger canoe through all kinds of surf. Alex taught a generation of Beachboys the arts of canoe surfing and how to be a steward of Waikīkī Beach.
THE WOODY RASHGUARD
The ʻWoody' is a relaxed fit long sleeve hooded menʻs rashguard with zipper named after Woodridge "Woody" Brown, surfer, Waikīkī Beachboy, and creator of the first and fastest ocean going catamaran, the Manu Kai ("Sea Bird") in 1947. Fascinated by the speed of the Polynesian twin-hulled outrigger canoes witnessed during his time in the South Pacific during WWII, he adapted the idea upon his return to Hawai'i, using lightweight hulls and adding huge sails.
WOMENS COLLECTION
THE MĀMALA RASHGUARD
The ʻMāmala' is a relaxed fit long sleeve womenʻs rashguard named after our home waters off Waikīkī Beach, where the heart and soul of beachboy tradition is carried on. Māmala Bay is the original Hawaiian place name for the waters off Waikīkī.
THE LĒʻAHI RASHGUARD
The ʻLēʻahi' is a fitted long sleeve womenʻs rashguard with zipper named after Diamond Head, the iconic dormant volcanic cone which lays to the east end of Waikīkī. Itʻs shape resembles the brow of the ʻahi fish (Lē-ʻahi). British sailors renamed it "Diamond Head" when they mistakenly thought the shiny calcite crystals they found on its slopes were diamonds.
